A brief look at the 90+ years of Pinner Construction:
The people of Southern California have entrusted Pinner Construction with their building needs since 1919, the year Arthur Thomas Pinner founded the company as an independent masonry contractor. Working amidst a post-war economic boom that brought increased demands for new housing, more schools, hospitals, and factories of all types, the young Arthur recognized a growing need for quality workmanship and a close, personal, caring commitment to the bustling Southern California construction industry.
Operations, which began with small-scale projects in brick and stone, expanded throughout the 1920′s to include other areas of construction. By 1929, the Arthur Thomas Pinner Construction Company, had evolved into a full-scale general contracting
During the Depression years and throughout the 1940′s, Pinner expanded the scope of its operations to include much larger commercial and public works projects. The Pinner team became experts in building schools, libraries, and public office buildings, fulfilling a need for contractors willing to meet the stringent specifications, tight schedules and strict budget requirements of these projects.
In the early 1950′s, after years of apprenticeship in all aspects of the construction trades, Arthur’s son, Jack, assumed a leadership role in the renamed Arthur Thomas Pinner & Son Construction Company. This started the tradition of family ownership and operation that continues today.
Special capabilities have been developed in the areas of massive concrete pouring, interior remodeling, and new free-standing construction-areas that are now true Pinner specialties.
Jack’s son, John, and grandson Johnny, now spearhead the Pinner team and continue to provide project owners with consistently superior performance, resulting in awards and acclaim by peers in the construction industry.
