Project Superintendent / Project Manager

 

Job description

This position is responsible to properly coordinate, schedule, and manage the day to day construction activities of a project.   Depending on the project, this position provides on-site direction for all aspects of construction for their assigned project. Required skills include knowledge of materials, methods, processes, procedures and equipment involved in the construction of buildings and related site work. Manage project costs to insure completion within budget expectations. Work with Senior Staff to develop the project schedule in critical path steps and budget time required to meet deadlines. Inspect and review construction in progress to enforce compliance with plans, specifications, building and safety codes. Schedule and direct all subcontractors and vendors through all activities to full completion of the project. Manage all on site construction related activities, subcontractors and vendors.   Obtain all project related permits and ensure SWPPP and environmental requirements (e.g. LEED if applicable) are met.   Review and approve subcontractor and vendor pay requisitions and submit to Senior Staff for final approval.    Schedule delivery and sequence of project materials and work.    Hold weekly site safety meetings.   Hold weekly subcontractor site meetings.   Hold weekly Client update meetings.   Enforce subcontractor compliance with building and safety codes from all Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ’s), implement on site quality control and adherence to plans and specifications.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum 3-5 years experience constructing DSA or other public type projects as a Superintendent and or Project Manager.  Previous experience with BIM is preferred but not required.  OSHA 30 hour certification is preferred but Pinner will offer training if necessary.   Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products,  a broad understanding and industry proven track record of successfully public projects are also desired.   Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders typically associated with public projects.  Strong written and verbal communication skills are desired.  Successful candidate(s) will function effectively as part of a team and exhibit strong leadership qualities.
