Pinner Construction has been serving California for more than 101 years. In 1919, Arthur Thomas Pinner founded the company as an independent masonry contractor. Working amidst a post-war economic boom and increased demand for an assortment of new facilities, Pinner Construction recognized the growing need for quality workmanship and delivered on those demands while expanding and enriching its scope of work. Since its founding, Pinner has experienced sustained growth by providing quality services to the bustling Southern California construction industry.

Company founded by Arthur Thomas Pinner, an independent masonry contractor in San Pedro, California.

1939

Prior to WWII, Pinner Construction begins building schools for the Los Angeles Unified School District.

1946

A year after World War II ends, Pinner experiences significant growth from the post-war economic boom.

1956

Pinner incorporates and becomes Pinner Construction Co., Inc.

1980

Pinner is awarded “Builder of the Year” for the third time that decade.

1990

Pinner relocates its headquarters to Anaheim, California.

1999

Pinner Construction completes the first of many construction management projects for the Long Beach Unified School District.

2004

Pinner Construction completes the first of many lease-leaseback projects for the Los Angeles Unified School District.

2008

Pinner Construction completes the first of many LEED facilities for the Santa Monica Community College District.

2009

Pinner Construction implements innovative BIM technology for the first time.

2017

Dirk Griffin is named Pinner Construction's new Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than 26 years of experience in the financial and construction industries.

2019

Pinner Construction celebrates its 100-year anniversary while continuing to deliver safe, sustainable, and quality projects for the bustling Southern California construction industry.

2020

Pinner Construction is named an ENR Top Contractor, ENR Top Education Contractor, ENR Top Public Works Contractor, and among OCBJ's Best Places to Work and the OC Register's Top Places to Work. In a record-breaking year, CEO Dirk Griffin also receives an OCBJ Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Pinner is also recognized in OCBJ's list of Companies That Care.

2021

Pinner earns a Great Places to Work Certification for the first time. In addition, the firm climbs the list as an ENR Top Contractor, ENR Top General Contractor, ENR Top Education Contractor, and ENR Top Green Projects Contractor. Not stopping there, once again, Pinner is named among the LABJ's list of Top Los Angeles County General Contractors and among OCBJ's Best Places to Work.
